yin
Yin Yoga is a quiet meditative practice, combining long held static floor postures with breath work. Yin Yoga slowly stresses the deeper tissues of the body like our ligaments, joints, deep fascial networks and also our bones. Mainly focusing on the areas of the body where the fascia is more dense, like the pelvis, the hips and the lower back. These tissues react well to long held static stress , which help to keep them healthy and strong, improve our range of motion and ultimately help to decompress the joints. The practice of Yin Yoga is perfect to find that balance in this Yang culture we live in, and is a perfect accompaniment to an active Yoga practice or any Yang exercise like a gym workout.

breathwork
Ancient meditation traditions knew that the breath and the mind are very closely linked. It was taught that prana, the life force energy circulating through us, can be cultivated and channelled through pranayama or specialized breath techniques. The style of breathwork that we share in our sessions, are all based in the ancient tradition of pranayama, which is a deeply therapeutic approach towards respiratory development, healing & wellness, and spiritual connection. classes are based around the implementation of breathwork patterns designed to mobilize the diaphragm, creating expansion and elongation of the breath cycle. Influencing the breath in this way helps to increase supply of oxygen through the body, increasing wellbeing and vitality within. In these classes an emphasis is also placed on using the breath as a focal point to quieten the mental chatter in the mind creating space for clarity and improved ways of thinking.

sound healing
In sound healing, Julian uses a variety of sound modalities, (yoga nada) and techniques in order to restore the body’s vibration to its natural harmony and balance. Each part of our body, including the chakras (energy meridians), resonate at different frequencies. A variety of sounds are played into and around the body in order to cleanse, tune and restore the person to their optimal state of vibration. We are made of light (energy) and sound (vibration), and the experiential process of Sound Healing reintegrates and recalibrates these aspects back into healthy alignment. Sound healing is a deeply relaxing and peaceful experience for the body, mind and spirit.
